GreenAcres Heatherley Wood, an award-winning cemetery and ceremonial park near Grayshott, Hampshire, has unveiled a series of improvement works to provide additional facilities for the community.
Originally opened in 2015, Heatherley Wood Park is set in 12 acres of woodland and wildflower meadows, and offers a unique location for memorial services, cremation services, and burials.
The improvement works include the building of a new Gathering Hall, to offer families a private space to spend time together and reflect or celebrate before and after services. Heatherley Wood Park’s existing Meadow View Hall has been extended to provide capacity for over 100 people to attend memorial services and life celebrations.
Responding to the increase in families looking to personalise life services, Heatherley Wood has introduced three new screens for visual and digital tributes, and incorporated live web-streaming with improved WiFi to allow guests to join services remotely.
A dedicated catering area has been added for family and community events and support groups, ensuring that they can easily be provided with refreshments.

The developments also include the creation of a separate administrative centre with a dedicated family room, to provide a private and peaceful area for families to discuss personal memorial arrangements with GreenAcres’ team of specialists.

The building enhancements have been carefully designed to be sympathetic to the Park’s green environment, meadows and woodland.
Commenting on the new facilities, Matt Hedges, Head of Operations at GreenAcres Cemeteries and Ceremonial Parks said, “Providing a supportive and caring environment is at the heart of everything we do, and we know that many families choose Heatherley Wood because of its tranquil and beautiful location, alongside the personal service that we provide.
“We understand how important it is for families and friends to gather together and share their love for the deceased, and we’re pleased to be able to widen our support for the community by offering additional facilities such as our new Gathering Hall.”
Jeni Putland, Park Manager at GreenAcres Heatherley Wood added, “We pride ourselves in supporting families to achieve a personalised memorial service or life celebration for their loved ones, alongside providing the ability for guests to join remotely, which has become an important and much valued addition to the traditional funeral.”
