On the 19th of September GreenAcres held a free event for adults and children alike, children enjoyed an educational talk from Knowsley Safari who brought with them a range of reptiles, amphibians and insects. Children found out all about habitats and why they are important, along with some interesting facts about the creatures country of origin.
The RSPB took families around the woodland, children took part in ‘wildlife bingo’ and on one of the trails a blackbirds nest fell out of the tree right in front of the group!
Adults had the opportunity to hear from Herbalist John Taylor who talked about the benefits of utilizing herbs as an alternative to traditional medicine, attendees were able to ask questions about common health complaints and had chance to buy a range of teas, creams and ointments. The passionflower tea is absolutely delicious I may add..
