Our new Woodland Warden Tony Bishop has made friends quickly at Rainford, especially with his best buddy Charlie (as we call him) the pheasant. Peter the peacock has been lurking around the outside of the office for food, we are still yet to see Tony tame the peacock but he is getting there.
We had a very sad incident at the park last Saturday when a family spotted a wild rabbit who was seriously injured at the park, Angie (who many of you will know) took the rabbit into her care while another member of staff called the RSPCA hoping that we could save him.
Angie cradled it until the RSPCA came and then we knew it was time to say goodbye.
If you find a sick or injured wild animal call the RSPCA as they will advise you on what to do, at times they are busy and may advise for you to take the animal to the closest Veterinary Practice, they will give you a reference number and will advice you to call them before you set off.
