Tony Muldoon, Chairman of East Hampshire District Council acting on behalf of Cllr. Ferris Cowper and the Bishop of Hamtun, The Rt. Rev’d. Martyn Douglas, were amongst the guests invited to take part in the Opening Service at GreenAcres Woodland Burials – Heatherley Wood yesterday.
Families of loved ones already buried in the park, along with other community members enjoyed listening to readings and songs sung by the Grayshott CE Primary School Choir, followed by a personal message from the GreenAcres Group Managing Director, Andy Paling who explained how the concept came together before thanking the families who have already become part of the Meadow and Woodland. The service came to an end with Mr Muldoon cutting the ribbon to mark the official opening of the GreenAcres Group fifth burial park.
Quote from Cllr. Ferris Cowper:
“Today represents the triumph of the partnership between East Hampshire District Council and GreenAcres Woodland Burials, which has provided the local community with this natural burial site. Despite the challenging history of the site, the partnership has delivered to the local community this remarkable building and beautiful tranquil burial ground of which we can all be very proud. My thanks to both GreenAcres and EHDC for this fine achievement.”
