What a fantastic event led by The Merseyside and West Lancashire Bat Group on the 21st of April 2017.
Bat explorers arrived at the park just in time for sunset and received a short talk from Laura the group lead who spoke about the different kinds of bats we have in the UK, she also dispelled a few myths too!
The walk started in front of the woodland hall, after watching the sun set we started to make our way into the woodland, starting at the Orchard end.
We were kindly given bat detectors by the charity and as soon as we came into Orchid Walk the detectors started to pick the bats up, some of us were even lucky enough to see the bats.
Due to the positive feedback received we will be planning another free bat walk later in the year, keep a look out for the posters in reception and book early to avoid disappointment as the places go pretty quickly.
Contact The Merseyside and West Lancashire Bat Group to find out more about these fascinating little creatures.
