Welcome to GreenAcres

Fascinating Fungi in Colney

Wednesday 3rd September 2014

At GreenAcres Woodland Burials – Colney, we usually see an abundance of fungi each Autumn.  Fungi plays a vital role in the ecology of our woodland as it recycles nutrients and shares them with trees.  There are thousands of species of fungi in the UK, approximately 3,000 in Norfolk.  We are already starting to see some species appear around the 12-acres Colney park.

This year, once again we are delighted to be joined by the Norfolk Fungus Study Group for a special event on Saturday 4th October to tell us more about the fascinating species that we might find within the woodland.

The event is free to attend but places must be booked in advance.  So, if you would like to learn your Ink Caps, Stinkhorns, Golden Bootlegs and Fly Agarics, this event is not to be missed!  Please contact us on 01603 811556 or e-mail [email protected]
