Sunday 16th December 2012
Chiltern Woodland Burials held two services of remembrance on the 16th December. Both services not only gave an opportunity for families to remember loved ones buried at the park, but also the chance to think of those further afield with the whole room giving a minutes silence as we remembered the school children and teachers who lost their lives in Connecticut on Friday.
After the service, everyone collected a small “Christmas memory card” to write a message of love on which were then taken to the gravesides of their loved ones.
Peter Taylor and Angie Whitaker led the service, with hymns, poems and also a “sweet Nativity”, the telling of the Nativity using confectionary!!! Enjoyed by Children and Adults alike.
Santa visited the courtyard and gave out gifts and listened to the wish of list of many, while parents enjoyed mulled wine, soup, and mince pies.
The day finished with the Wycombe Philharmonic choir singing and leading carols by candlelight.
