As we continue to grow, we are seeking a dedicated Deputy Manager to assist in leading the team effectively to achieve park objectives.  To act as the main point of contact for prospective families, suppliers and Funeral Directors. Part of a growing portfolio of businesses focused on the bereavement sector owned by Darwin Alternative Investments. The Darwin Bereavement Services Fund provides investors with a unique opportunity to generate long-term yield and uncorrelated returns through a successful portfolio of cemeteries, crematoria and other bereavement services assets.

Position Overview:

As a Deputy Park Manager, you will be responsible for ensuring the smooth running of the Front of House team and all its operations by providing an efficient and supportive environment for the team, delivering excellent customer service and the company’s continuous care program. 

Key Responsibilities:

Customer Care

  1. Ensure the team consistently promotes the highest standard of customer care and the ability to find ways to improve a customer’s experience
  2. Ensure a consistently high standard of guidance and care, linked to a “Client Service Promise” which makes the “brand experience” memorable and compliments the park
  3. All customer’s concerns and complaints are handled in a timely and compassionate manner

Service Delivery

  1. To act as the principal contact for the family, funeral director & celebrant throughout 
  2. Set and maintain the highest standards of appearance within the hall for each service and viewing
  3. Supervise the team to deliver services to the highest standard
  4. Manage and coordinate the transportation of the deceased to the local crematoria as required

People Management

  1. The ability to manage and motivate the team and ensure colleague welfare
  2. Conduct appraisals and the setting of SMART objectives and targets for the business
  3. Develop the team through coaching and training, recommending where external training is required
  4. Responsible for recruitment and retention of quality employees

Sales Care

  1. Achieve sales targets through effective solving of customers’ burial/cremation and memorial needs 
  2. Ensure the consumer is made aware of all the options and services available, and assist in the development of new product ideas
  3. Manage the events on-site as required
  4. Deliver and manage an effective continuous care/showground program to enhance the customer’s experience 
  5. Support the Park Manager in achieving an improved commercial result through account management and community engagement

Finance & Administration

  1. Manage all costs in line with the budget and drive efficiencies within the operational areas to meet targets
  2. Manage the events on site as required
  3. Ensure all administration and control processes associated with the service of the park are followed

Health And Safety

  1. Ensure all company procedures regarding H&S, security and welfare are maintained at all times
  2. Ensure colleagues are aware of evacuation & security procedures and alert senior managers to risks/problems
  3. Responsible for the maintenance of OSH requirements instilling good techniques & standards across the Park
  4. If required deliver first aid and follow the correct H&S procedures to ensure own safety
  5. Ensure gates and all buildings are opened, closed and secured as required
  6. Promote and uphold the park’s commitment to sustainability and eco-friendliness

Qualifications:

  • Hospitality, or a related field
  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills
  • At least 3-5 years of leadership and team management experience
  • A passion for sustainability and a commitment to maintaining the natural beauty of the park
  • Computer literate – competent with Microsoft Word, Excel and PowerPoint
  • Interest in training and developing people, with care for their welfare
  • Support continuous development and improvement of services and processes for the park
  • Must live within the proximity to the park
